In celebration of the New Year, Entertainment Wire recently caught up with popular astrologer Susan Miller of AstrologyZone.com who agreed to talk about newsmakers, like Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Kanye West. Based on their Sun Signs, here’s what she had to say about who these celebrities are and what we can expect from them in the year ahead.
Aries
Mariah Carey
 Glitches: “Aries experienced problems with love due to the position of Saturn in their love sector over the past two years. It was frustrating--Aries would meet someone intriguing, but soon learned this new person was based in a different city, traveled for work all the time or was pinning for a former love, as three examples. It seemed new love always brought obstacles. Now that Saturn finally moved position last September, this will no longer be the case.
2008 Outlook: “This is a landmark year for Mariah's career and she also will have a good chance of finding lasting love. Jupiter conjunct Pluto, a rare once-in-13 year aspect that occurred mid-December 2007 will kick off a new cycle for Mariah in matters of the heart, and also boost her creativity. This cycle will take her straight into 2020. End of December 2007 and January 2008 should bring Mariah plenty of positive publicity. She will prove once and for all that she's a superstar and hasn't lost her box office appeal. Home-related matters are also on her mind in the coming year; she may move or renovate in April, May or early July."
Advice: “Mariah should make her career her number one priority because events of this year will determine her future professional path in the coming decade and beyond. Mariah should not allow herself to become distracted. She needs to go on tour and be out and about--we need to see quite a bit of her.”
Taurus
Janet Jackson
Tests: “Many Taurus men and women felt adverse affects of the 2006 and 2007 eclipses which tested the strength of their current relationship. Some felt quite a bit of turbulence. If the relationship was strong, it held, but if it wasn’t, then differences were almost sure to show up. Those who believed that their relationship was strong moved to fix them, and others simply threw in the towel and broke up.”
2008 Outlook: “Her big year for career will be in 2009 but this year she will do particularly well on foreign shores. Janet should contemplate doing a tour overseas for it would be wildly successful. Romantically, Janet will undergo one more testing phase on the lunar eclipse February 20. We need to wait to see what she decides to do with her current steady. This will be a critical testing point, for this particular full moon eclipse brings Saturn, the great teacher planet, to a prominent position, but Saturn is known to be the "tough love planet" that does not mince words. My feeling is that Janet has already had her biggest relationship tests, so this one won't bring any shocks that she's not prepared to handle.”
Advice: “Not only will foreign markets do well for Janet, but so will the college market. She should include both in her strategic plans this year."
Gemini
Kanye West
 Wide Open: “Kanye is very talented, and has enjoyed considerable support from partners in the past year, ie, his agent, lawyer, publicist, and other experts who form his inner circle. With his sensitive natal moon in Pisces, Kanye bonds closely with his music. Indeed, writing and performing allows Kanye to concentrate fully, in all-encompassing way. The wear and tear of life sometimes bruises him, for he makes himself quite vulnerable to others. Yet this very vulnerability is his strength; it allows him to feel, and to fully express his feelings. It is a big part of his genius. He’s open to everything, and sees beauty in areas others miss.”
2008 Outlook: “Kanye will make more money in 2008 than he’s ever seen, and the money will arrive in the form of chunks of cash, such as in royalties. I think this talented performer will enjoy one hit right after another in 2008. Kanye will also experience high expenses, so there will be a huge emphasis on money management, but it appears to be money well spent. It appears he’s buying or renovating his home or other property.”
Advice: “Generally Kanye tends to turn to music as a form of comfort and creativity, which is great, because all of us benefit from what he produces. I would like for him to think about other venues for his talents. For example, he could try his hand at a hip musical theatre for Broadway, with great success. Kanye is ready for more, and his adoring audience would be thrilled to see a new form of expression. Judging by his chart, Kanye is a real leader. So Kanye--reach out and surprise us.”
Cancer
Fantasia
Disciplined: “Fantasia is a tender soul, quite sentimental and family-oriented, but at the same time, she is quite good with managing money and with negotiating a strong deal for herself contractually. Usually, a person with high creativity doesn’t also possess powerful financial savvy, too but Fantasia has both and I think having both forms the basis of her success. She’s very entrepreneurial.”
2008 Outlook: “Collaborations will be magic for Cancers in 2008. Her greatest opportunities will come from her agent or some other collaborator in the coming year. This would be a wonderful year for her to get married, too, if that's a possibility. If she’s dating someone, I would like her future husband to pop the question at Christmas 2007 or in the last week of December (after December 27th) of 2008, the time marriage would most likely come up--joyously so. If Fantasia doesn’t get married this year, she might delay it altogether, as she'll wait to meet someone new.”
Advice: “I would like Fantasia to collaborate with other creative artists, like Nelly Furtado did with Timbaland.”
Leo
Halle Berry
 Homeward Bound: “With five planets in her behind-the-scenes sector (twelfth house)
Halle is an extremely private person. She works beautifully alone, in solitude, rather than in collaboration with others. She is much more home oriented than her fans might assume--her values are solid and real, so the glamour of Hollywood is fun, but is not something that she needs desperately. She has her priorities worked out--home, family, love and children are where her heart lies. Of course, she's a Leo, so finding a substantial outlet for her creativity will also be important to
Halle , but not so much so that her personal life suffers."
2008 Outlook: “2008 will be a quiet year for
Halle . Her money will gyrate a little, perhaps because she’ll decide to take off from making movies to take care of her new baby. A lot of emphasis in her chart focuses on fitness, health and being home with the family. Her best month for her career will arrive in May. At that time, she’ll probably have an exciting announcement, for the new moon May 5 will bring up an excellent opportunity.
Halle has said in the press numerous times that she wouldn’t get married again. If she changes her mind about marriage, it would happen next year, in 2009, not 2008.”
Advice: “Sometimes we need a quiet year, where we can sort out recent life agents and follow our own agenda without outside interference. This will be such a positive year for
Halle Berry . She’ll be able to catch her breath and to adjust to her new responsibilities as a mother.
Virgo
Beyoncé
Ups And Downs: “When it comes to love and relationships, many Virgos had a hard time, just as Taurus did. Beyoncé and Jay-Z probably had a few disagreements over the past two years, due to the testing eclipses of Virgo and Pisces in 2006 and 2007. Apparently this power couple worked out their differences for they’re still together and apparently happier than ever. Good for them! It appears this pair is built for the long haul.”
2008 Outlook: “In 2008, Virgo has the best outlook for finding true love of any sign. This will be a glorious year for Beyoncé's personal relationship, as well as for her creative expressions. Saturn in Virgo suggests that Beyoncé will look to add stability to her life. I think she’ll start to get more serious about getting married from now on, for it looks like having children is a serious future priority. She might even announce an engagement in January of 2008, but it's more likely to be in the last week of December 2008-either would be an ideal time to do so. She will also get another shot at marriage in 2010. Either would be sterling years to say "I do."
Advice: “A good career year. Also, a fabulous year for Beyoncé to be swept off her feet in love. Truly happy year. One little note to JayZ: when it comes to love, Beyoncé will sparkle. She might meet someone new, so if you want her for your wife, you might want to pop the question sooner than later.”
Libra
Usher
 Standing Alone: “Usher has a remarkable talent for negotiation and money management. He’s smart, careful and has taken the time to nurture powerful friends. If I didn’t know that he is a musician, I would assume that the person with this chart is a business tycoon. He will have his hand in several businesses and industries. With Pluto active in his chart on the day of his birth, early in life he realized that the only person he could depend upon was himself. This is a person who stands on his own two feet and would never fall over in a storm. It appears a parent was not able to be there for him in his early childhood.”
2008 Outlook: “Every Libra I’ve talked to is restless and wants something more in their careers. Usher needs a new mountain to climb--some new professional adventure that he can get excited about. He might surprise us with his decisions--watch for interesting announcements in May and July. Also, Usher will also have time to focus on his family and his home. He may buy a new house, or renovate his own (or his mother's). That will be an additional focus all year.”
Advice: “Try something a little different.”
Scorpio
P. Diddy
Hard Worker: “Looking at the planets on the day he was born, it's evident that P.Diddy is a very hard worker. He’s very focused and quite shrewd. P.Diddy knows how to do business and the give and take of negotiation comes naturally to him. Although he has made his success look easy, it is evident by his chart that he’s had to overcome a lot. He gets my vote for the person I’d most like to interview! He must have some story to tell, of overcoming very difficult hardships--it would be quite inspirational. On another front, it's evident too that women love him. His Venus-Mars aspects suggest true charisma, and when P. Diddy walks into a room, others notice.”
2008 Outlook: “This year, P. Diddy will travel a bit. There will be some changes in his career in February, but especially in August, due to the coming eclipses.”
Advice: “It’s apt to be a quiet year. February eclipses are more about family. It’s a good year of progress.”
Sagittarius
Britney Spears
 Friendships: “In her chart, the one thing that is not easy for her is making friends. This should have been a glorious year. If she hadn’t had the good aspects, she would have even worse heartache. She had a lucky year.”
2008 Outlook: “Jupiter is about to leave Sagittarius. Jupiter has been helping her but she’s not going to have Jupiter after this. In the coming year, she will make a lot of money. She’s going to have a better money year than she had last year. She’s troubled and she needs a best friend.”
Advice: “You’re now going into a year where you don’t have so many good aspects anymore. You really have to the bite bullet. Get a good best friend that you can talk to. She needs to get back on track.”
Capricorn
Mary J. Blige/ Jordin Sparks
  Shooting For The Moon: “Jordin has the most exciting chart. She has 5 planets in Capricorn and all of them will be visited by Jupiter. Mary will be very lucky, too but not until the second half of the year, because she was born in January. The people who are feeling lucky are the ones born in December.”
2008 Outlook: “This is her (Jordin) year to make her mark. She is my pick for newsmaker of 2008. I think she will move up the latter faster than anybody else but she has to apply herself. She has to want it. If she wants it, it’s there for her. Mary’s had some high expenses. By the summer, she’s going to make so much money. It’s an important year for her because she’s the cosmic favorite.”
Advice: “This is the year that Jordin and Mary should go for broke. Jordin should do the album, the movie, the broadway show, the Mattel doll and the calendar. She can’t go wrong. Mary is onward and upward.”
Aquarius
Oprah Winfrey
 Issues: “Aquarius has been beat up by the universe. Her relationships with people around her have not been easy. There are people that she hasn’t been happy with. She was feeling like they were working at cross purposes and that they weren’t following her wishes.”
2008 Outlook: “This is a quieter year. She is definitely happier. Next year, even more money comes in. If she ever were to get married, it would be next year. In February, she may have a new project.”
Advice: “She is developing her inner talents. Everything is better.”
Pisces
Robin Thicke
Letting Go: “He’s having his best career moment in December 2007. He’s really setting the building block for his career, as we speak. He’s had to weed out a few people. If he had to loose a couple of partners, it’s because they weren’t right for him. Pisces has a lot of patience; they can stay in a relationship for a long time but if he felt a loss, it will more than make up for itself.”
2008 Outlook: “This year he won’t have to work as hard. His year will be much more fun. He’s very creative, especially in April and May. There’s a new moon right before his birthday in March. That’s going to put him on a new path. He’ll get a really nice opportunity. He’s going to be wildly happy this year.”
Advice: “He has to watch his partners to make sure that the people who say they can do certain things, really can. Take all the offers very seriously because one is golden.”
