 Next Day Air
By ETEditor
☺☺☺ More Comical Than Expected
In the vein of movies like cult classic Friday, Next Day Air uses comedy to portray the mishaps of two bank robbers, a package delivery guy, a wannabe gangster, his girlfriend and a drug kingpin. Despite the hackneyed scenario, it’s actually possible to laugh at this film.
The movie starts out following Leo (Donald Faison), a young, weed smoking delivery guy that still lives at home with his mother (Debbie Allen). While delivering a large box, Leo mistakenly drops it off at Brody (Mike Epps) and Guch’s (Wood Harris) apartment, two inefficient bank robbers. It turns out that the package is a box full of high-quality cocaine and the guys decide to sell it to Brody’s dope dealing cousin. Meanwhile, the intended recipient, Jesus begins sweating bullets because he’s in grave bodily danger if drug kingpin Bodega finds out that his drugs are missing. The two plots meet up toward the end of the movie, where the main characters get involved in a massive shootout in the robbers’ apartment.
If you want to know who lives and who dies, watch the movie. Next Day Air isn’t as bad as it seems.
Dance Flick
By ETEditor

☺☺ It’s Okay
Dance Flick is every bit as silly and unusual as you would expect, especially when you consider that it’s coming from the Wayans family. The parody mocks a number of dance films and musicals, including Save The Last Dance, Stomp The Yard and Dreamgirls.
This time the second generation of Wayans is in on the act. Damien Dante Wayans is the director of the movie while Damon Wayans, Jr. (who is splitting image of his father) stars in the movie as Thomas Uncles. However, a number of Wayans are spotted throughout Dance Flick.
The story begins with Megan (Shosana Bush) moving in with her father after her mother dies. Thomas helps her rediscover her love of dancing. He also competes in dance contests with partner A-Con (Affion Crockett) to get money owed to Sugar Bear (David Alan Grier). Megan helps him compete against his dance rivals.
