Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry announced that he plans to return to the stage with his trademark character Madea in “Madea’s Happy Family.” He says he took a few months off so that he could be at his mother’s side during her last days. She passed away December 8th. This will be the first time in five years that he has performed on stage as Madea. I wonder does he ever get tired of it. Or maybe the character is therapeutic for him.

What do you think of Tyler Perry’s character Madea? Do you look forward to seeing her on stage?

Happy Holidays, Everyone! I hope Santa brought you everything you wanted. I mostly wanted money so that’s what I got. I’m happy with that. Anyway, I was looking through message boards today and found a thread about rude celebrities. People shared their positive and negative experiences with famous people and I have to say most of the time, I wasn’t surprised at their comments. Many of the people they considered rude I could have guessed that about them.

I’ve met or interviewed several entertainers but I can’t say that anyone of them have been outright rude. I will say that some are friendlier than others. In my opinion, two of the most personable entertainers I’ve met are singer India Arie and actor Hill Harper.

Have you met any really rude or really nice celebrities? Who are they?

I know I thought all was going pretty well in singer Mary J. Blige and her husband Kendu Issac’s marriage. I mean, don’t get me wrong; Marriage is hard, yall and not much surprises me anymore but I have to admit I didn’t see this report coming. FOXNews claims that singer Mary J. Blige punched her husband in the face at her album release party for flirting with a waitress. Allegedly, they were in each other’s face and at one point, Mary asked “What are you gonna do, Chris Brown me?” Her rep calls the story a “lie.” Blige also denies mentioning Brown and says she was stopping a fight between her husband and her brother.

What do you think caused the ruckus?

The startling news today is actress Brittany Murphy (Clueless, 8 Mile and Sin City) died this morning due to full cardiac arrest. She collapsed and was rushed to the Mount Sinai-Cedars Hospital but paramedics were unable to revive her. Murphy was only 32 years old.

Reportedly, the Los Angeles Coroner will be picking up her body later in the day to investigate her death. It would be interesting to see what caused it. It’s always distressing to hear that someone so young went into cardiac arrest. From what I’ve read and seen, a common cause for cardiac arrest is drugs, prescription or illegal (i.e. Michael Jackson). Either way, my condolences go out to her family.

What do you think may have happened to Brittany Murphy?

That’s right. You’re eyes are not deceiving you. Tina and Matthew Knowles, parents of singer (and sometimes actress) Beyoncé, are divorcing after 29 years of marriage and many rumors. Tina filed for divorce in Harris County, Texas last month. I suspect the two have been leading separate lives for a while. Rumors have swirled around Matthew for years including everything from drug use, affairs and a paternity suit. To say that this is embarrassing for Beyoncé is probably an understatement. She’s always tried to present her parents’ marriage as rock solid. Unfortunately, court documents don’t lie.

My sympathy goes out to the Knowles family. What do you think? Did you see this coming?

I’m watching The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, which appears on A&E. It shows the brothers – Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito - working on an album (minus Michael Jackson). It also shows their internal disputes and them dealing with Michael’s death. I think it’s your typical reality show. Most of the brothers seem pretty chill, except Jermaine. He seems to constantly go against the grain to make sure he sticks out like a sour thumb instead of trying harder to work with his brothers.

What do you think of the Jackson brothers’ reality show?

The drama continues for the ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. New York Daily News is reporting that bickering friends Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak may be out of the show next season. Apparently, the women are asking for more money to do the show and the network is getting tired of it. Now, I’m not sure how much reality show participants make but I think they can only make so much. If they want more money, they’re going to have to market themselves and expand their personal brand.

Do you think these women are right to ask for more money?

By now, everyone on earth has heard about golf star Tiger Woods’ car crash. We’ve also heard about the various mistresses in his life. There’s the club promoter, the waitress and the former TV producer. Even though this is not an original tale, (a wealthy famous person cheating on their spouse) the story has literally grown legs and walked all around the world. It’s kind of sad if you think about it because the intense media attention tells me that many people had an unrealistic image of Tiger.

So what? He can hit a ball. Nobody ever said he was perfect. To be honest with you, I would have been surprised, if a man of his stature hadn’t cheated on his wife.
