SEACREST: SIMON IS THE SWEETEST

When American Idol host Ryan Seacrest was on Oprah this past week, she asked him about judge Simon Cowell. Seacrest said that Cowell is one of the sweetest guys in the business. He also said that the judge is very generous. I’ve heard this before about Simon from a few different people. So, I would accept this to be true.
Do you think Simon Cowell is nicer than he seems?
INDIA’S FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Recently, India Arie criticized Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s video, Telephone. She called the 11 minute mini-movie “socially irresponsible.” While I haven’t had the chance to take a look at the video, I’m sure it’s typical Lady Gaga. The really surprising part is that a lot of people responded to India on Twitter, giving her a hard time.
Everyone has a right to their opinion. Entertainers are no different. If it’s not India’s cup of tea, it’s just not her cup of tea.
Do you think India Arie was wrong to speak out about her opinion on Lady Gaga’s Telephone video?
DANCING WITH THE STARS PREDICTIONS

I watched the show this past week and I really liked the people chosen for this season. I think it’s going to be very interesting but very predictable. I have a few of those predictions listed below:
1. Buzz Aldrin and Niecy Nash will be eliminated within the next three episodes.
2. The show will try to keep Pamela Anderson on as long as they can, mostly for ratings purposes.
3. I know there’s a lot of buzz about Nicole Scherzinger. Many think that because she has a dancing background that she’s a sure bet. *shaking my head* Past seasons have shown that people with obvious dancing ability usually make it to the runner up post, at most. Think Extra’s Mario Lopez and singer Mya.
4. And my final prediction, Cincinnati Bengals Chad Ochocinco has a good shot at the title, if he gets his stuff together. Over the last nine seasons, more than half of the winners for Dancing with the Stars have been athletes.
What are your predictions for the show?
BEYONCE NOT PREGNANT

When I heard the rumor that singer Beyoncé was pregnant, I knew it wasn’t true. This week, rumors seemed to come out of nowhere about her but you also have to remember, every female entertainer has at least one tabloid “pregnancy.”
To be honest, I think it’ll be another couple of years before Beyoncé announces a pregnancy. Children require a lot of your time and I don’t think she’s in any hurry to slow her career down.
Did you believe the Beyoncé pregnancy rumor?
OSCAR CURSE

Oscar winning actress Sandra Bullock found out last week that her husband had an affair with a woman for about 11 months. Shortly before the news broke, she moved out of the family house. Since news hit the media, people have been kicking around ideas of an Oscar curse because many of the women that have won Best Actress Oscars (Kate Winslet, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron) are no longer with their husbands.
I, however, don’t believe there is any curse. I think it takes a lot of hard work and determination to win an Academy Award. So much so, that sometimes relationships suffer. We, as women, would like to think that the world has evolved to where we can go out and achieve while our men are able to stay home and take care of everything else. Unfortunately, I think experience is showing time and time again that doesn’t work. The truth is relationships are about as much work as careers and when we devote so much time to the careers sometimes are personal relationships suffer (occasionally without our knowing it).
Do you think there’s an Oscar curse?
WHO’S THE RAPPER?

Recently, rapper Jackie-O talked about meeting a popular platinum selling rapper who raps about drugs. She said she was excited and hoped to work with him to get her career going. She also said it turned out he was only meeting with her for sex. Try not to be surprised.
Seriously, I was trying to think of who she could be talking about but all I was able to do was eliminate a few.
Which rapper do you think put the moves on Jackie-O?
TINY: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS

I’m not a celebrity (yet, LOL) but people have always told me that I’m too private and too secretive. I think they’re overreacting and that they’re too trusting but who’s to judge? I recently read that Tiny Cottle (formerly of Xscape) told Vibe that she didn’t understand why people were so concerned about how long it was taking her and rapper T.I. to get married. She said it wasn’t their business and that they were happy and in love.
I understand what she’s saying but I would like to know who really cares? I mean, they’ve been together for about 10 years. I can’t believe people are even interested in their wedding date at this point.
Is there really a watch out for when T.I. and Tiny get married?
SWISS BEATZ: SHE WASN’T MY EQUAL

It’s funny to hear different men talk about what they want in a woman. Producer Swiss Beatz talked to DJ Enuff recently about his divorce from singer Mashonda. He states that Grammy winner Alicia Keyes was not the reason for their separation. He sites that they were not equals. He likes having someone who has a life, too and isn’t sitting at home looking for ways to go through his phone.
I find his statements interesting because I think many men are not sure what they want in a woman until they get what they don’t want. Then, it’s too late. Either way, I hope all parties are able to move on and thrive.
Do you agree with Swiss Beatz that it’s better to have your equal?
YELE ISSUES

Reports are stating that rapper Wyclef Jean paid his personal assistant $105,000 from his Yele Foundation funds. Zakiya Khatou-Chevassus is supposedly Jean’s mistress. The former Fugees member came under fire after the media scrutinized his efforts to raise money for Haiti’s earthquake.
Do you think Wyclef Jean misused the money?
MONIQUE WON

Yayyyy! Comedian Monique won an Academy Award. I am so happy about that. I don’t quite know how I feel about her acceptance speech though. I would love for someone to do a sit down interview her and find out what her beef is because it’s obvious she has one. I know Hollywood can be hard and she’s been in the game for awhile but she won an Oscar. She can be mad tomorrow.
What do you think of Monique’s Oscar win?
OSCAR NIGHT

First, let me apologize for my inexcusable absence. I know that I’ve been MIA for the past couple of weeks but moving is a pain. That’s right; I said no excuses. Anyway, I am watching the Oscars, which is unusual because over the last 4-5 years, it’s been one of the most boring award shows ever. But tonight, it hasn’t been half bad.
Do you think this year’s Oscar ceremony is better?
